Welcome to the Lambert Project!

The Lambert Project was the code name for the project component of Directed Study for my Masters Degree.  This project helped me complete the requirements for my Masters Degree in May, 2005.  The degree may be done, but my work continues.

USCSS Nostromo A7X Goes Alpha!

USCSS Nostromo A7X has reached a point of maturity where it will no longer be distributed as a "stable release" product.  I generally issue "stable release (SR)" builds for pre-alpha applications.  Nostromo A7X has been promoted to Alpha status.  As an Alpha build, Nostromo is a "nearly feature complete" product that will progress through several Alpha iterations, refining and tweaking features and possibly adding a few new ones.  Once this phase is complete, Nostromo will go Beta and ultimately become a Gold build.

The Alpha builds of USCSS Nostromo A7X are code-named Bullet for My ValentineBullet for My Valentine is an awesome metal band from Bridgend, Wales.  Give them a listen.

Lambert Project Overview

The Lambert Project currently consists of several applications:  JM Lambert (or "Lambert" for short) and USCSS Nostromo (or "Nostromo").  From a high level, the Lambert application will be able to import data from various sources, such as Active Directory, CVS or Exchange, and convert it into a format that can be processed by the sv3D tool.  Nostromo is a Jabber-based instant messaging/presence awareness client.  The code name for this project (Lambert) comes from JM Lambert, navigator of the USCSS Nostromo from the 1979 film Alien.

JM Lambert is the only application that will be used for the degree requirements; all other applications are simply enveloped in this "project."

If you were directed here from Jabber Studio, you're probably here to learn about Nostromo.  You've come to the right place!

Kick around the site and you'll find just about everything you want to know about the Lambert Project.  Downloads will be available, mainly in the form of "stable" builds.  You will also find blogs, screen shots and the USCSS Nostromo application.  Nostromo is a Jabber-based instant messaging/presence client.  Nostromo is now distributed under the GNU General Public License.  All Stable Releases prior to the GPL (SR-16 and earlier) have been removed.

Security Update:  All software available in the Downloads section is now Digitally Signed.
